The San Francisco 49ers entered the 2026 NFL draft looking to add more picks, and they pulled it off with a flurry of trades early on the first two nights of the selection process.
Their latest deal saw linebacker Dee Winters exit to join the Dallas Cowboys. In exchange San Francisco received a fifth-round pick, bringing their total selections in this year's draft to eight. They entered the three-day selection process with six, including none after Round 4. They now hold a pair of fifth-round choices.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see the 49ers look to move on from a pick or two to acquire a player in a trade. They may also aim to move back again to pick up more draft capital to facilitate a trade and bring in a decent haul from this year's draft.
