The road to the NBA kicks off this Friday in Chicago, where the NBA G League Draft Combine marks the beginning of a pivotal nine-day stretch that includes both the NBA Draft Lottery and the NBA Draft Combine. This is a critical proving ground for prospects looking to make the leap to the professional level.

North Carolina fan favorite Seth Trimble is set to headline the G League event, ready to showcase his skills in strength and agility testing as well as competitive five-on-five scrimmages. With NBA and G League scouts, executives, and coaches watching closely, a standout performance could earn the four-year UNC guard a coveted invitation to the NBA Draft Combine, which follows immediately after.

Trimble enters the combine ranked No. 84 on ESPN's Top 100 draft board, though he's notably absent from the latest mock drafts by ESPN, The Athletic, and USA TODAY Sports. He is one of 44 invitees, divided into four teams, and will share the court with a talented group including Quadir Copeland (NC State), Noam Yaacov (Belgium), Donovan Atwell (Texas Tech), Aidan Mahaney (UC Santa Barbara), Malique Lewis (SE Melbourne), Zach Cleveland (Liberty), Trey Kaufman-Renn (Purdue), Mark Mitchell (Missouri), Graham Ike (Gonzaga), and Keba Keita (BYU).

The Tar Heel guard is coming off a career year in his final season in Chapel Hill. Trimble posted personal bests across the board, averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting a career-high 47.1% from the field. He recorded four 20-point games this season—after managing just one over his first three years—and posted a 16.6% assist rate, the best mark of his college career.

Whether he's driving to the rim or locking down on defense, Trimble's all-around game has made him a fan favorite and a player to watch as he takes this next step toward his professional dream.
