Acting Barcelona president Rafa Yuste has once again been critical of La Liga after seeing a goal by Ferran Torres ruled out for offside in Wednesday’s win over Celta Vigo.

Torres volleyed home a fine effort to make it 2-0 but saw his effort chalked off for offside. Images of the action were then released and have caused controversy as it’s hard to see exactly how Ferran is offside.

Hansi Flick said he wanted an explanation for the decision after the match, and Yuste is also baffled as to why the goal was ruled out.

“For me it is unacceptable that one of the best leagues in the world has these systems with so little control and which need to be greatly improved for all teams, not just for Barça,” he told reporters.

“It will be a league title that, if won, will be of great value; sometimes you have to fight against adversity. If you know me, you know I don’t like to talk about referees.

“But I’ll say it again: there are six people refereeing a match: the main referee, two linesmen, and three people who are locked in a room calmly analyzing the plays. Therefore, I can’t understand it.”

Yuste has also been critical of the match officials in the Champions League this season. He said after the defeat to Atletico that officials had “caused us serious harm” in the competition in the wake of their exit.
