Over the course of the next few weeks, the NFL offseason should ramp up quite a bit, with the draft in roughly a week from now, and then many free agents signing shortly after its conclusion. However, this time is typically spent by players getting a little bit of extra work in, finding some time to get reps with their respective units, and building team chemistry ahead of the next season.
This is the case with the New Orleans Saints offense as well, as Tyler Shough has brought a few members of the offensive unit to Tulane to practice.
It is good to see Bub Means and Ja'Lynn Polk out there first and foremost, with both coming off injuries in the previous season, especially Polk, who just switched teams. Any extra reps they can both get with a quarterback they had little to no experience with is a huge positive. Seeing Moliki Matavao get involved is also promising, as he did not get many reps last season after being drafted in round seven, so maybe 2026 will provide him a bigger opportunity.

It is good for chemistry and development to see players getting on the field so early in the offseason and just working on their ability to play together. Shough at the helm for 2026 seems to be a promising sight for Saints fans, and his leadership is seemingly bringing the offense together already.
