The countdown to the NBA Draft is officially on, and with the draft lottery now in the rearview mirror, it's the perfect time to dive into mock drafts while enjoying the playoff action. The Athletic's Sam Vecenie has offered up his latest projections, and there's some exciting news for UCLA fans: forward Tyler Bilodeau is slated to go 50th overall to the Toronto Raptors.

Bilodeau recently went through the NBA Draft Combine, where official measurements confirmed he stands just over 6'7". While that might not be the towering height some general managers dream of, the versatile forward brings plenty of other assets to the table. His shooting is a standout—he knocked down 46.4% of his three-point attempts this past season and boasts a career average of 40.0% from deep. That kind of range is a valuable commodity in today's NBA.

But Bilodeau isn't just a spot-up shooter. He's also a solid ball-handler for his position, averaging over an assist per game while keeping his turnovers low at just 1.3 per game this season. He won't be asked to run the offense, but he's hardly a liability with the rock in his hands.

So, how would he fit with the Raptors? Toronto's frontcourt features Jakob Poeltl and Sandro Mamukelashvili at center, while Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram, and Collin Murray-Boyles are all vying for minutes at power forward. At 22 years old, Bilodeau would bring a level of maturity and experience that's hard to find in most rookies. Despite ending his college career on the sidelines with an injury, he logged 128 games of collegiate experience—a foundation that should help him transition smoothly to the pros.

While a single draft selection might not seem groundbreaking, it's a significant milestone for UCLA basketball. If Bilodeau hears his name called, he'll become the first Bruin drafted since Adem Bona in 2024. For a program with a rich NBA pipeline, that's a welcome return to the draft board.
