Everyone already knows where the top quarterback of the 2026 NFL Draft class is going.
Fernando Mendoza will be a Las Vegas Raider, and by the night is done, he will be donning the silver and black before jetting off from his home city of Miami to Sin City.
But when it comes to the consensus second-best QB in the class, Alabama Crimson Tide's Ty Simpson, no one knows.
While current speculation in the media and among insiders is that he will be drafted in the first round, there's been talk that Simpson could go anywhere from the first 10 picks to be the final selection of the night in a trade.
Per Kalshi, the prediction website, three teams are seen as the current frontrunners that see Simpson as their possible future franchise quarterback.
At the top are the Arizona Cardinals, with 56% odds of selecting Simpson.
While the Cardinals have the third pick in the NFL Draft tonight, they are not expected to use that selection on Simpson.
Arizona would either trade back and then use that pick to select Simpson, or the more likely option would be the Cardinals moving up to a late first-round pick to grab him before the night is done alongside the player they get at the third spot.
Behind the Cardinals is another NFC West team: the Los Angeles Rams, with 29%.
The Rams are currently at No. 13 in the draft, and they could very well move back a few spots or into the 20s if they feel Simpson would fall to them.
Matthew Stafford is coming back for at least one more season, but with an otherwise young roster, the Rams do need to start looking for his successor. General manager Les Snead and coach Sean McVay reportedly like Simpson, but do they love him to take him in the first round?
The third team with the highest odds is the New York Jets at 15%.
The Jets have two picks in the first round, and they can choose a defensive stud with their No. 2 overall before selecting Simpson with their No. 16 pick to get the fans excited in Gotham.
With the Buffalo Sabres making the playoffs in the NHL, the Jets have the longest playoff drought of any major sports franchise in North America.
The Jets faithful need something or someone to rally around, and Simpson might be that guy.
