Even though this draft isn't known for having an abundance of premier-level quarterbacks, it is extremely deep with defense, wide receivers, and offensive linemen.
As intriguing as this draft is, and as unpredictable the first round would be beyond the first pick, it allows us to look at a couple of prospects who may be undervalued or considered hidden gems. We have chosen two players who could help solidify their spots as starters during training camp this summer. Lesser known or not, these two are sure to make an impact.
17th Pick: Detroit Lions - Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
With the 17th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions would surprise some and select offensive tackle Blake Miller out of Clemson. A 6-foot-6, 315-pound domination factor just landed in Motown. He will be tasked immediately with protecting Lions QB Jared Goff. Miller snuck into the first round very late in the draft process as well. He is a very good run blocker to help open lanes for the speedy running back Jahmyr Gibbs. This pick nabs a sneaky high grade.
29th Pick: Kansas City Chiefs - Peter Woods, DT, Clemson
This wasn't premeditated to have two Clemson Tigers as hidden gems in this year's draft, by the way. Either way, Woods looked better on tape two seasons ago, but at 6-feet-2 inches and almost 300 pounds, Woods can move. Woods can be a key addition and pair nicely with Chris Jones and the Chiefs. This gives Kansas City a fresh face and body to disrupt opposing QBs and stop the run. This pick was also given a high grade.
