The 2026 WNBA Draft has officially tipped off the professional careers for two standout Duke Blue Devils, capping a remarkable season that saw the program capture the ACC Championship.
Leading the way was senior guard Taina Mair, selected 14th overall by the Seattle Storm. A two-time ACC All-Defensive Team selection, Mair saved her best for last, averaging career-highs of 11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and a disruptive 2.5 steals per game. Her selection marks a significant milestone, as she is the first Duke player taken in the first round since Lexie Brown in 2018.
She was soon joined by fellow senior Ashlon Jackson, who heard her name called in the second round. The Golden State Valkyries selected Jackson with the 23rd overall pick, adding a dynamic guard who averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists for the ACC champions.
With the WNBA season set to begin on May 8, the Duke faithful now have two new professional teams to support. The journey from Cameron Indoor Stadium to the WNBA hardwood is complete for these two Blue Devils, and an exciting new chapter awaits.
