TORRANCE, CA – Before the 2025 campaign, the Sparks made a huge move as they traded the #2 pick of the draft in a three-team deal and acquired Kelsey Plum from the Las Vegas Aces.

The Los Angeles Sparks made waves ahead of the 2025 WNBA season, trading the No. 2 draft pick in a three-team blockbuster to bring All-Star guard Kelsey Plum from the Las Vegas Aces. While the team just missed the postseason, Plum's arrival was electric. She opened the year with a sizzling 37-point performance in San Francisco against the Valkyries and finished the season ranked fourth in the league in scoring and fifth in assists. As the Sparks' sole All-Star representative, Plum proved she was worth every bit of the trade.

After a strong 13-win improvement from the previous season, the Sparks are hungry for more in 2026. With a revamped roster featuring veteran talent, the energy in training camp is palpable. During Sparks Media Day, we sat down with Kelsey Plum alongside Felicia "Mynt" Enriquez from Blacklove and Basketball to talk about the team's evolution and what's ahead.

On the team's progress: "I'm super excited. We've had a great rhythm in training camp, and I just want to keep building. We have one more preseason game, and then it's go time. We've got some great pieces—now it's about putting it all together."

On recruiting veteran guard Erica Wheeler: "I love E. I've been trying to play with her for years, but the timing never worked out. This past year at Unrivaled, I put the full-court press on her. Every chance I got, I made sure she knew how much I loved and respected her—and how badly I wanted her here. I'm so glad we got her."

On balancing scoring and playmaking: "It was great. Obviously, being a scorer is part of my game, but I love finding my teammates too. It's about reading the game and shifting when needed. That's what makes this team dangerous—we have options."
