Auston Trusty credited an "insane" atmosphere for Celtic's crucial derby win over Rangers on Sunday. Martin O'Neill's side came from a goal down to win 3-1 and move to within a point of Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership. This is the best atmosphere I've ever played in.

In what can only be described as a spine-tingling derby day, Celtic defender Auston Trusty has hailed the "insane" atmosphere at Parkhead as the driving force behind his team's crucial 3-1 comeback victory over Rangers on Sunday.

Trailing by a goal early on, Martin O'Neill's side roared back with three second-half strikes to snatch all three points and close the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership to just a single point behind leaders Hearts. The win marks a stunning turnaround for a team that was six points adrift when O'Neill returned for his second interim spell back in January.

Trusty, the American center-back, was visibly buzzing after the match, describing the noise inside Celtic Park as unlike anything he has ever experienced. "Obviously Champions League nights here are incredible, but that atmosphere was insane. It was so insane," he said. "It really helped us. It's everything. It's everything we need."

The defender went on to credit the fans for playing a massive role in the victory, noting that the energy from the stands lifted the players when they needed it most. "We need to do our part, but as an organisation, as a club, everyone's playing a part – and the fans, definitely, truly played a part in this win. This is the best atmosphere I've ever played in," Trusty added.

With five straight wins now under their belt, Celtic's momentum is building at just the right time. Hearts remain top, but the two sides are set to meet on the final day of the season in what could be a title decider. Trusty, for one, believes the dream is alive. "I don't think we've ever stopped believing. We've always had the mindset that it's been within our grasp. But with the momentum we have now, I would say it can be really magical."

For fans, players, and anyone lucky enough to be inside Celtic Park on Sunday, it was a reminder of why Scottish football produces some of the most electrifying atmospheres in the world. And if Trusty gets his wish, the season's finale could be one for the history books.
