As we gear up for the 2026 college football season, the offseason clock is ticking faster than you think. With media days just around the corner in mid-July, now is the perfect time to dive into the Notre Dame roster—but why go one player at a time when you can tackle three?
Welcome to the Triple Threat series, where we break down the Fighting Irish roster in groups of three to keep things fresh and efficient. Each installment features one offensive standout, one defensive anchor, and one newcomer (whether a freshman or transfer) until we shake up the combos later on. Today's trio: Anthonie Knapp, Adon Shuler, and Mylan Graham.
OL Anthonie Knapp #54
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 304 | Class: Junior | Hometown: Roswell, GA
Anthonie Knapp’s journey to Notre Dame reads like an underdog story. A 3-star recruit who flew under the radar, he arrived in South Bend—a program known for stockpiling 4- and 5-star offensive linemen—and promptly earned the starting left tackle job as a true freshman in 2024. His debut? A road start at Texas A&M, no less. Injuries forced the Irish to lean on Knapp, and he responded by helping anchor the line all the way to the national championship game.
Now, after starting at left tackle for two straight seasons, head coach Joe Rudolph has shifted Knapp inside to left guard this spring. The move makes sense: Knapp’s skill set is better suited for the interior, and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as he mentors redshirt freshman Will Black, who is slated to take over at left tackle. With his steady play and leadership, Knapp is poised to be a cornerstone of the Irish offensive line in 2026.
DB Adon Shuler #8
Height: 6-0 | Weight: 202 | Class: Junior | Hometown: Irvington, NJ
Adon Shuler has a knack for flying under the radar—but don’t let that fool you. In a Notre Dame defensive backfield that featured stars like Xavier Watts and Leonard Moore, Shuler has often been the overlooked piece in casual conversations. That says more about the company he keeps than his own performance. Shuler has developed into a physical force in the middle of the field, bringing a hard-hitting style that opposing receivers dread. As he steps into a larger role this season, expect his name to start getting the recognition it deserves.
WR Mylan Graham #3
(Newcomer)
Mylan Graham arrives in South Bend as one of the most exciting additions to the Irish receiving corps. A dynamic playmaker with the ability to stretch the field, Graham brings speed and versatility that could immediately impact the offense. Whether he’s lining up outside or in the slot, his explosiveness adds a new dimension to Notre Dame’s passing attack. Keep an eye on this freshman as he looks to make an early impression.
Stay tuned for more Triple Threat breakdowns as we continue to preview every player on the roster—three at a time. Who will be next?
