the third weekend of the PDC’s second tier tour season continued at Halle 39, Hildesheim.

The action heated up at Halle 39 in Hildesheim as the third weekend of the PDC Challenge Tour season wrapped up with three deserving winners taking home the trophies. For fans of the sport's rising stars, this weekend delivered drama, precision, and a glimpse of the future of darts.

Saturday was all about Christopher Wickenden and Joe Hunt, who claimed victory in Challenge Tour Events 13 and 14, respectively. Wickenden, who had already shown promise with a quarterfinal run earlier in the season, came out firing in Event 13. He powered through a tough field, taking down Tim Baker, Rowby-John Rodriguez, Scott Campbell, Marcel Walpen, Derek Coulson, Liam Maendl-Lawrance, and Patrick Tringler to set up a final showdown with fellow countryman David Evans.

The final was a back-and-forth thriller. Both players held throw for the first four legs, but Evans struck first with a 15-darter in Leg Five to go up 3-2. Wickenden refused to back down, answering immediately with a 20-dart break to level the match at 3-3. From there, he found another gear, firing back-to-back 15-darters to seal a 5-3 victory. It was a career-defining moment — his first PDC title and a £3,000 top prize that will surely boost his confidence for the rest of the season.

In Event 14, the spotlight shifted to Joe Hunt, the current table topper who has been dominating the Challenge Tour circuit. Hunt marched through the competition with wins over Paul Kalashnikov, Jannis Barkhausen, Robin Beger, Michael Unterbuchner, Harry Ward, Jamai Van den Herik, and Derek Coulson to set up a final against Tommy Morris.

Hunt came out with purpose, racing to a 2-0 lead with legs in 14 and 20 darts. But Morris showed fight, winning back-to-back legs to level the match at 2-2. That's when Hunt turned up the heat, reeling off two more legs in 13 and 16 darts to move within one of victory. Morris managed to pull one back, but Hunt closed the show in style with an 11-darter in Leg Eight to claim his third Challenge Tour title of the year and extend his lead at the top of the standings after 14 events.

The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour weekend in Hildesheim may be over, but the momentum from these performances will carry into the next events. Whether you're following Wickenden's breakout or Hunt's dominance, one thing is clear: the future of darts is bright, and the competition is only getting fiercer.
