NEED TO KNOWTravis Kelce opened up about his future plans following his career in the NFL when speaking on his New Heights podcast on April 15

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end discussed the idea of sports broadcasting alongside his brother, Jason, and his ESPN coworker Troy Aikman

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, discussed the possibility of entering the sports broadcasting world when he ultimately decides to hang up his jersey.

Travis, who is now entering his 14th season in the league, opened up on the topic when chatting with his brother, Jason Kelce, on their New Heights podcast during the April 15 episode. Guest Troy Aikman, a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback who now works with the retired Philadelphia Eagles center, 38, on ESPN's Monday Night Football, floated the broadcasting idea.

"Now if we get his brother... over to the world wide leader, we got something!" Aikman, 59, said of Travis possibly joining them on ESPN after he retires from the league, prompting the three-time Super Bowl champion tight end to share his thoughts on whether that career path would interest him down the road.

"I don't know, man. ESPN is a very polished organization. I don't know if I would...," joked Travis, playfully alluding that he wouldn't be cut out for the buttoned-up job. "I'm just kidding," he added with a laugh, saying, "I'd have a f—king blast, dude!"

Aikman confirmed, "It's not that polished."

"You're right. Considering Jason's first time on air, he's screaming 'tits' on air," a laughing Travis recalled to Jason and Aikman, both amused by the hilarious September 2024 incident. "And he still has a job!" the 11-time Pro Bowler noted noted.

The conversation arose after Aikman praised Jason for his work at ESPN after his March 2024 retirement from the NFL. He played 13 seasons, became a seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time All-Pro selection and won Super Bowl LII in February 2018.

Speculation about Travis' future swirled after he concluded his 13th season with the Chiefs in January. The star tight end, who has spent the entirety of his NFL career in Kansas City after being taken 63rd overall in the 2013 draft, saw his one-year contract with the team expire on March 11.

Not long after his contract was up, Travis signed a new one-year deal with Kansas City worth $12 million on March 23, finalizing his decision to return to the team for a 14th NFL season.

"Chiefs Kingdom, let's go baby, it's official! Excited for 2026 and just excited to put on a Chiefs uniform in front of you guys again," he said in a video posted to the team's Instagram account at the time, before sharing a request for the fans: "Let's get Arrowhead rocking, baby."

He concluded, "We'll see you guys in a few months."

The clip was posted shortly after the Chiefs shared a slideshow of images of Travis, who's gearing up for his upcoming wedding with fiancée Taylor Swift, inking the deal on Instagram, along with a caption that confirmed the news of his signing.

"Officially official ✍️ @killatrav is back for his 14th year!" read the caption, alongside photos of the star tight end in front of the documents with a pen in hand. He also posed with Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach, along with other team staff.

The Athletic was first to report that Travis would return to the Chiefs on March 9.
