Torrez, who placed third in the all-around last year, put together a near-perfect series of routines. She posted a 9.9375 on vault and a trio of 9.9500 scores on the uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, finishing with a dominant total of 39.7875. "If you would have asked me 2 1/2 weeks ago, I had no intention of doing the all-around this meet," Torrez admitted on the ESPN broadcast. "But it was great. It kinda just happened the way it happened. And it happened perfectly."

In another highlight of the championships, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles showcased her signature power and artistry to win the floor exercise crown with a score of 9.9750.
