The Toronto Marlies put on an offensive clinic in Game Three of the North Division Semifinals, steamrolling the Laval Rocket 6-2 in the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs. From the opening puck drop, it was clear the Marlies meant business—and they didn't waste a second proving it.

Just five seconds into the game, Toronto capitalized on an early power play when captain Logan Shawn buried a quick strike, setting the tone for a dominant first period. The Marlies kept their foot on the gas: forward Easton Cowan danced past two Laval defenders and rifled a laser past Rocket goalie Kaapo Kahkonen to make it 2-0. Defenceman Henry Thrun then cleaned up a rebound after Jacob Quillan was denied, and forward Alex Nylander added a soft-touch finish at the crease off a feed from Luke Haymes. By the first intermission, Toronto had built a commanding 4-0 lead.

The second period saw more of the same, though the Marlies took their time before striking again. Forward Ryan Tverberg broke away for a goal in the 15th minute, pushing the lead to 5-0. Laval finally found some life, outshooting Toronto late in the period and getting on the board through alternate captain Alex Belzile at the 15:20 mark.

In the third period, the Rocket came out with renewed energy, outshooting the Marlies 4-3 in the first seven minutes despite Toronto having two power-play opportunities that came up empty. Laval's persistence paid off as they pulled within 5-2, threatening to make it a game. But Marlies forward Cedric Pare extinguished any comeback hopes, notching the sixth goal to seal the victory.

Between the pipes, Marlies goalie and AHL All-Star Artur Akhtyamov was rock-solid, stopping 26 of 28 shots for a stellar .929 save percentage. With this win, Toronto takes a crucial step forward in the series, showcasing an offence that looks ready to make a deep playoff run.
