Toprak Razgatlioglu’s save at the Spanish GP leaves MotoGP fans stunned

MotoGP fans were left speechless after Toprak Razgatlioglu managed to pull off one of the best saves of the season so far at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Yamaha may still be struggling, but that hasn’t stopped Razgatlioglu from giving fans a reason to cheer. The Turkish rider has been one of the few bright spots for the team this year, showing flashes of brilliance despite their ongoing issues.

In FP2, Razgatlioglu appeared to be losing control as he approached turn 13, sliding across the floor before somehow regaining his balance and staying upright. The reaction from those in attendance made it clear that they were watching something special unfold.

The moment wasn’t lost on Pramac either, with team chief Gino Borsoi spotted celebrating in the garages as cheers rang out across the Circuito de Jerez.

Fans on social media were quick to react, with most left stunned by the Turkish rider’s incredible balance and control.

Razgatlioglu has been a popular figure since joining MotoGP this season, with his performances at the Malaysia opener already earning him a strong following. His save at Jerez has only added to that reputation.

One fan posted on Reddit: “This guy is not even human. He is something else. How the f— is this possible? You know what, it’s AI, I’m not going to believe it.”

Others echoed similar feelings. “That save was INSANE,” wrote another fan, while one simply said: “Holy moly!!! Howwww? How did he save it!!”

Although Razgatlioglu hasn’t made an impact in the standings just yet, many fans are already drawn to his entertaining style.

One comment read: “Toprak’s been so impressive and entertaining in just these few short rounds,” while another said: “Toprak doing Toprak things.”

The replay also showed Pramac teammate Jack Miller narrowly avoiding contact as Razgatlioglu recovered. One fan summed up what many were thinking: “Love to hear what Jack Miller said in his helmet as that happened right in front.”

Even though he only qualified 19th for both the Sprint and the main race, Toprak Razgatlioglu still gave Yamaha something to think about during qualifying.

The three-time World Superbikes champion managed to outqualify Yamaha’s factory rider Alex Rins, as well as his Pramac teammate Miller, once again, with wildcard rider Augusto Fernandez being the lead rider in P16, one place ahead of Fabio Quartararo.

While there has been talk of Razgatlioglu taking a factory seat at Yamaha in 2027, recent moves in the MotoGP paddock suggest that decision may already be made.

Jorge Martin is expected to join Yamaha next year, and reports suggest Ai Ogura will also be part of their lineup, replacing Rins. The Spaniard didn’t hold back when speaking to media at Jerez, making his feelings about the situation clear.
