“Monday Night Football” play-by-play man Joe Buck has done everything there is to do in sports, or so it seems.
The almost 57-year-old — his birthday is Saturday, April 25 — has provided coverage of six Super Bowls, 24 World Series and five U.S. Open golf tournaments.
On July 25, he will join his father, Jack Buck, as a recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Also, he is a member of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame and received the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Now, according to Front Office Sports, Buck is nearing a deal to host “ESPN Jeopardy!,” a sports trivia show that will stream, and possibly air, on the Disney family of networks.
“The program is expected to air on Hulu and Disney+, and may also run on linear TV on ABC and ESPN’s streaming platforms this summer, sources said,” Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel reported.
Sony, which owns “Jeopardy!,” is seeking ways to expand the show’s brand. Former “SportsCenter” anchor Dan Patrick hosted “Sports Jeopardy!” on Crackle from 2014-16.
Not surprisingly, Buck has experience hosting game shows. He spent a week as “Jeopardy!” guest host in August 2021 following the 2020 death of venerable host Alex Trebek.
Buck hosted the talk shows “Joe Buck Live” on HBO and “Undeniable with Joe Buck” on DirecTV’s Audience Network. He had a podcast, “Daddy Issues with Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson” with actor Oliver Hudson.
Buck and partner Troy Aikman will be behind the mic when ESPN televises Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027.
