The Ohio high school baseball season is heating up, and the latest state coaches' poll confirms the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) as a powerhouse. Three of its teams—Springboro, Beavercreek, and Centerville—have stormed into the top 11 of the Division I rankings.
Leading the charge is Springboro, last year's state runner-up. The Panthers are off to a perfect 7-0 start, earning them the No. 3 spot. Right behind them, the 7-1 Beavercreek Beavers hold the No. 6 ranking, setting the stage for a massive GWOC showdown when they visit Springboro on April 27. Centerville, starting strong at 6-2, rounds out the conference's elite trio at No. 11.
The Miami Valley League is also making serious noise across multiple divisions. In Division II, the undefeated Troy Trojans (8-0) are ranked fourth. Division III features two top-10 contenders: the unbeaten Butler Aviators (8-0) at No. 3 and the Tippecanoe Red Devils (8-3) at No. 8.
The depth of talent in the region extends beyond the big schools. In Division V, Coldwater (6-1) and Anna (6-0) are ranked seventh and tenth, respectively. The small-school divisions are just as competitive, highlighted by St. Henry's perfect 8-0 start, which has them sitting at No. 2 in Division VI. This early-season success showcases the incredible level of baseball being played across Ohio, where every game is a battle and every ranking is earned on the field.
