With the high school girls lacrosse playoffs drawing near, these are the top contenders who could bring home a state title.

The high school girls lacrosse playoffs are here, and Greater Cincinnati is buzzing with anticipation. As the brackets are finalized, teams across Ohio and Northern Kentucky are gearing up for a thrilling postseason run that kicks off May 13. Whether you're a player, parent, or fan, these are the squads to watch as they chase state glory.

In Ohio's Division I, Springboro has claimed the top seed in Region Four, setting the tone early with key wins over Kings and Milford before the season's midpoint. The Panthers boast a 12-5 record and enter the playoffs on a high note after a dominant 20-0 shutout of Kettering Fairmont. Senior Ashley Filburn has been the offensive engine, leading the team with 50 goals, while sophomore Cam Walters has been a dynamic playmaker with 40 goals and 42 assists. Springboro's depth and momentum make them a formidable contender.

Hot on their heels are Eastern Cincinnati Conference rivals Kings and Milford, seeded second and third respectively. Kings finished the regular season at 13-4 and went undefeated in conference play, powered by USA Lacrosse All-American Marin Bode. The senior standout has scored over 70 goals and added 24 assists, anchoring an offense that frequently tops 20 points. She's also a force in draw controls, ranking top five in the conference. Milford, at 12-3, has won eight of its last nine games, with their only conference loss coming in an overtime heartbreaker to Kings on April 21 (7-6). These two teams are poised for a potential rematch that could define the postseason.

In Division II, Mariemont has established itself as the team to beat, but don't count out other Cincinnati Hills League foes or Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. The Warriors have been consistent all season, but the playoffs often bring surprises, and a few underdogs are ready to spoil the party.

Across the river in Northern Kentucky, Cooper and Ryle have earned bids to the Kentucky High School Girls Lacrosse State Tournament after finishing as Region Five champions and runners-up, respectively. Both teams begin their quest for a state title on May 13, bringing a blend of speed, skill, and determination that makes them must-watch contenders.

As the playoffs get underway, these teams are all chasing the same dream: a state championship. Whether you're cheering from the stands or gearing up in your favorite lacrosse gear, this is the most exciting time of the year for girls lacrosse in the region. Play ball!
