The Tennessee Titans are pulling a strategic play this offseason, and it involves bringing in some serious local talent. As part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program, the Titans have added four new coaches to their roster through training camp—and one of them is a Nashville native with an impressive track record.

Jeremy Holt, founder of AthElite Performance and a hometown hero, has joined the Titans' "performance" staff under head coach Robert Saleh. But Holt is no stranger to NFL-caliber training. In fact, he's one of the key architects behind "Tight End University" (TEU), the annual summer gathering that has brought the league's best tight ends to Nashville since 2021 for intense workouts and drills. Now, for the 2026 offseason, the Titans get to tap into that expertise directly.

Holt is joined by three other Bill Walsh Fellows: D'Anthony Batiste (offensive line), Darryl Blackstock (linebackers), and Larry Dace (special teams and running backs). But it's Holt's deep Nashville roots and proven player development that make this hire particularly exciting for Titans fans.

A star running back at David Lipscomb High School (now Lipscomb Academy), Holt was a 2007 Tennessee Mr. Football Finalist and earned First-Team 3A All-State honors. After his playing career at Harding University, he returned to Nashville and launched AthElite Performance in 2017—just as the Titans were gearing up for their playoff runs in the late 2010s.

Early clients included Titans standouts like safety Kevin Byard and wide receivers Corey Davis and Tajae Sharpe, who sought out Holt during the NFL's dead period in late June through July. As Byard emerged as one of the league's top young safeties and the Titans started winning, more players flocked to Holt. The "MMCNBs" (My Man Catch No Balls) era of Titans defensive backs all trained under him.

The COVID-19 pandemic only accelerated Holt's reputation, as restrictions pushed more NFL players to find him for training. Then, in 2021, TEU was born—founded by Nashville resident and San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, with Holt playing a pivotal role behind the scenes.

For the Titans, this isn't just a feel-good local story. It's a smart offseason move that brings proven, high-level training expertise right into the building. And for fans, it's a reminder that sometimes the best weapons are the ones already in your backyard.
