The Tennessee Titans are ramping up for their rookie minicamp this weekend and will get a chance to see their latest additions take the field at the Vanderbilt Medical Football Center for the first time.

As they work toward that, assistant general manager Dave Ziegler met with the media on Tuesday to discuss the draft process, some prospects, and an overview of what’s ahead.

Ziegler opened his press conference, breaking down the scouting process and the role the coaching staff played in helping the front office stack the draft board.

When asked about Daboll's focus on building the offense around Cam, Ziegler first pointed to the additions of weapons, including Carnell Tate in the draft and Wan’Dale Robinson in free agency. Following that, he went into the offensive line and pointed to the additions of multiple players, who should raise the level of competition along the front.

When asked about Hill, Ziegler stated the obvious: Hill will be used as an off-ball linebacker with some ability to add a splash as a pass rusher and will likely be moved around situationally. But he also broke down the linebackers' interchangeability in Salehs’ defense, noting that they look for similar traits across the formation and that the only real difference is that one of the linebackers will be wearing the green dot.

While Ziegler didn’t close the door on re-signing Kevin Zeitler, he expressed confidence in Cordell Volson, Jackson Slater, and the two linemen, Fernando Carmona and Pat Coogan, that the Titans grabbed on Day 3 of the draft. Although it sounds like Tennessee will look to use some of the remaining salary cap space to add competition.

Ziegler talked about how the Titans' front office and coaching staff reached a consensus on how they would use him in the offense, and in the end, that won out over questions about Reese and his eventual position. From the sound of it, this was a unanimous decision made by the organization.

Pretty good explanation for the Carnell Tate over Arvell Reese selection from #Titans asst GM Dave Zeigler. The decision was unanimous. pic.twitter.com/gQVbPZ9TfN
