
Apr. 28—WINDOM — Three Windom Area baseball players will take their talents to the collegiate level next year as some of the latest signings to Minnesota West Community and Technical College.
Stevie Meyer, Hayden Tietz and Matthew Voehl all signed their letter of intent to play for the Bluejays last week. All three players have been vital toward the Eagles' success this season.
Meyer is batting .400 this season with 10 hits, a team-leading 16 RBIs, 11 walks and 14 runs scored. He also started two games on the pitcher's mound and has a 2-0 record with 12 strikeouts and a 1.00 earned run average.
Tietz is having an even more efficient season at the plate for Windom with a .541 average. He also leads the team in hits with 20, doubles with five and runs with 21. He's also pitched 6.1 innings with 11 strikeouts and a 1.11 ERA.
Voehl has contributed four innings on the mound with a 1-0 mark and five strikeouts. At the plate, he has six hits and six RBIs. He, Meyer and Tietz have helped lead the Eagles to a 9-2 record so far this spring.
They will join a Minnesota West squad that currently has a 13-24 record this season. The Bluejays are led by head coach Joe Kinley along with catching coach Jake Olson and pitching coach Tucker Sorenson.
