The first round of the NFL draft opens Thursday night from the host city of Pittsburgh. While no Nebraska Cornhuskers are projected to be taken in the first round, the final seven-round projection from USA TODAY Sports has three Huskers taken in this year's event.
Through the 2025 draft, Nebraska has had 370 players selected, with 34 taken in the first round. The most recent first-round draft pick was cornerback Prince Amukamara, selected by the New York Giants with the 19th pick in the 2011 draft.
Running back Emmett Johnson is projected to be taken by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 131st pick. In the seventh round, safety DeShon Singleton is projected to the Arizona Cardinals with the 217th pick and cornerback Ceyair Wright is projected to the Cleveland Browns with the 248th pick.
Nebraska has had the No. 1 pick in the draft at two different times in program history. In 1937, Sam Francis was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver Irving Fryar was taken by the New England Patriots in 1984.
The first round of the NFL draft is Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network. Streaming options for the game include FUBO, which offers a free trial to new subscribers.
