Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel got grilled at an airport by a reporter about his alleged years-long affair with NFL reporter Dianna Russini ― and the encounter has gone viral. (Watch it below.)

The coach didn’t answer any questions in the TMZ-shared impromptu interview, which got uncomfortable.

The reporter mixed obsequious comments of concern for the coach with provocative questions. He asked Vrabel if there’s a “little bit of a double standard” here, presumably over Russini resigning from her gig at The Athletic while he remains in his post. The interviewer also asked Vrabel if he and his wife were “hoping to work it out” and asked for his take on talk that he “should step down.”

“What does accountability look like for you at this point?” the reporter continued. ”... Anything to say to Patriot Nation?”

Vrabel, a former Patriots linebacker who led the team to the 2026 Super Bowl in his first season as its head coach, finally got in his car and the one-sided interview ended.

TMZ, which noted that the footage came from a “photographer” who is not its employee, released the clip on Tuesday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the accusations fall outside the league’s personal conduct code but Vrabel’s shifting stance has grabbed the sports world’s attention.

When the New York Post’s Page Six first published photos of him and Russini appearing somewhat intimate at a Sedona, Arizona, resort recently, both downplayed the circumstance. Vrabel then allowed he had “difficult conversations” with his family and later announced he would seek counseling and skip an important day of work: Day 3 of the NFL Draft.

Photos have also surfaced of him and Russini apparently kissing at a bar in NYC in 2020 and hanging out at a Mississippi casino in 2024.
