The CIF-Southern Section softball playoffs are here, and the local talent is shining bright. Seventeen teams from the area have punched their tickets to the postseason, promising a thrilling stretch of games ahead.

Leading the charge are two top seeds in Division 4. Defending Division 5 champion St. Bonaventure from the Tri-Valley League takes the No. 1 spot, while Channel League co-champion Rio Mesa is seeded third. Both are poised for deep runs.

The powerhouse Marmonte and Coastal Canyon leagues are flexing their muscles, sending nine of their 11 teams into the mix. At-large berths went to Agoura (Division 1), Camarillo (Division 2), and Newbury Park (Division 4), ensuring a strong local presence across multiple divisions.

First-round action kicks off Thursday, May 14 for Divisions 2, 4, 6, and 8, followed by Friday, May 15 for Divisions 1, 3, 5, and 7. Here's a breakdown of the local matchups:

Division 1 features three Marmonte League squads. Oaks Christian (25-3), the league champion, hosts Chaminade (17-5-1). Westlake (22-6-1) hits the road to face Paraclete (24-2), while Agoura travels to Etiwanda (22-3).

Division 2 showcases four local teams, including Coastal Canyon League co-champions Simi Valley and Moorpark. Simi Valley (18-7-2) hosts Alta Loma (14-9), Moorpark (11-8) visits Long Beach Poly (15-4), Thousand Oaks (19-9) welcomes Downey-Warren (17-10), and Camarillo (14-9) hosts South Hills (13-12).

Division 3 sees Oak Park (16-10) traveling to face Cerritos-Valley Christian (12-8).

Division 4 is loaded with local contenders. Top-seeded St. Bonaventure (17-6-1) hosts Valencia (11-10), third-seeded Rio Mesa (14-13-1) welcomes Santa Ana-Segerstrom (9-14), Oxnard (12-10-1) faces Prep League champion Pasadena Poly (17-3), and Newbury Park (15-12) visits Mid-Cities League champion Paramount (17-5-1).

Division 5 features Santa Clara (13-7) taking on top seed Jurupa Hills (16-10), while Grace (12-10) hosts Golden West League champion Buena Park (13-8).

Division 6 has Citrus Coast League co-champion Santa Paula (13-9) traveling to El Monte (14-8).
