One of the features of the annual NFL draft is the New Era caps that are handed out ot each player who gets selected. Every year they change, and this year, they have a special message on the inside that reflects the culture and history of each franchise.
Last year’s draft hats were highlighted by team-specific pins, but this year’s design features custom graphics inside the front crown of each hat (and a standard NFL Draft logo pin, because pins are still in).All draftees will be handed a New Era 9FIFTY design with a snapback fit that features metallic detailing and the team name on the closure, but the hats will also be available in 59FIFTY (fitted) and various other styles.
For the New York Giants, "the inside of this hat features the team's 'NY' helmet logo on one side and 'GO BIG BLUE' beside it. That's all... Slogan inside the hat: 'NYFG' (New York Football Giants)."
Many may ask why the New York 'Football' Giants? It's a phrase that was relevant back in the day when New York had a baseball team named the Giants as well. That should have gone away when the baseball team moved to San Francisco in 1958, but it's managed to stick around for nearly 70 years.
