Pegged as a transformative shooter, her debut season was derailed by a foot stress fracture that cost her 15 games. She never found a consistent rhythm upon return, and her exit leaves a major question mark for Texas's perimeter scoring future.

Carlton addressed her decision on social media, emphasizing that NIL opportunities were not the driving factor. "I really wanted to play at Texas all 4 years of college," she wrote. "I never imagined I'd transfer. But some things just don't work."

This level of turnover creates a monumental challenge for Schaefer, known for his defensive intensity and program-building. Replacing this much production and experience will require a masterful job in the transfer portal and immediate contributions from the incoming freshman class.
