Former Texas A&M linebacker Scooby Williams was signed by the Minnesota Vikings after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Williams, a 4-star recruit from Birmingham, Alabama, began his collegiate career at Florida, where he broke out in his junior season. He ranked second in the SEC in forced fumbles, showing promise as a run defender and pass rusher.
Williams transferred to Texas A&M the following season upon Mike Elko's hiring, where he became a staple of a stout Aggie LB group alongside Taurean York. He earned Defensive Newcomer of the Year at the Aggies' award banquet after a productive junior season, but suffered an injury midway through the 2025 season that sidelined him for six games.
Williams joins a well-rounded Vikings defense whose linebackers received an A grade from Vikings Wire. While there won't be much opportunity for Williams to compete for significant playing time immediately, Minnesota is an ideal place for him to develop alongside high-level players and coaches.
