Texas A&M football broke a program record Friday as six players were take in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving the team seven selections total this year.
On five occasions, the Aggies had five players taken in the top 100: 1977, 1987, 1994, 1996, and 2003. But the 2026 class is the most prolific yet in terms of early-round activity.
The NFL draft began with Round 1 on Thursday before the second and third rounds Friday. Rounds 4-7 will begin Saturday before noon central time.
For the Aggies, the action started with wide receiver KC Concepcion being tabbed the No. 24 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. Potential first-rounders offensive lineman Chase Bisontis (34th overall, Arizona Cardinals) and edge Cashius Howell (41st overall, Cincinnati Bengals) went relatively early in the second round the next day. There was a run of Aggies to follow.
The next question is: Will Texas A&M break its record for most players taken in a draft, period? That mark is 10 players in 1976, when the draft stretched more than 10 rounds. They had seven picked in 2019, the record for a seven-round draft.
Some names that could help the Aggies get there include corneback Will Lee III, linebackers Taurean York and Scooby Williams and running back Le'Veon Moss, among others.
