Auburn football's recent recruiting momentum continues as they make the top 10 for the nation's No. 5 offensive tackle from the 2027 class.

The recruiting trail is heating up for the Auburn Tigers, and the momentum shows no signs of slowing down. A major target on their board, four-star offensive tackle Layton von Brandt from the 2027 class, has officially narrowed his list to four schools—and Auburn has made the cut.

Von Brandt, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound powerhouse from Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Delaware, is ranked as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the nation and the top player from his home state. His final four includes Auburn, SEC rival Florida, Notre Dame, and Penn State, setting the stage for an intense recruiting battle.

The young lineman recently visited Auburn during spring practice and came away impressed. According to reports from Rivals, von Brandt built a strong connection with new Tigers head coach Alex Golesh and praised the program's facilities. However, early predictions from 247Sports currently lean toward Notre Dame as the favorite to land his commitment.

But the race is far from over. Von Brandt has not yet set an official commitment date and has not taken an official visit to Auburn. With the summer months ahead, recruiting momentum can shift quickly, and the Tigers have proven they can close the gap when it counts.

Auburn currently holds five commitments in the 2027 class, ranking No. 42 nationally according to 247Sports. The recent surge has been impressive, with most pledges coming in over the last three weeks. Four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook, three-star tight end George Lamons, and three-star offensive lineman Jaylon Moore have all committed since April 18. Most recently, wide receiver Brylan Oduor announced his pledge last Saturday, adding to the growing excitement on the Plains.

For Auburn fans, the message is clear: the Tigers are building something special, and the chase for top-tier talent like Layton von Brandt is just getting started. Stay tuned as the summer recruiting circuit promises plenty of action ahead.
