Wojciech Szczesny has sent a clear message about his Barcelona future: he's not ready to hang up his gloves just yet. The veteran Polish goalkeeper, who came out of retirement to join the Blaugrana, addressed mounting speculation about his next move in a candid interview with Eleven Sports.

"I'm old enough to understand that every year there might be speculation about whether I can still play, whether I still want to play," Szczesny said. "I still want to play, and I still can play, so I think we'll talk a couple more times after this Clasico."

With one year left on his current contract, the 34-year-old remains fully committed to Barcelona. But his role extends beyond making saves between the sticks. Szczesny emphasized the importance of fostering a positive atmosphere in the dressing room, especially for the club's emerging talents like Lamine Yamal.

"I realize that, even when I'm not helping on the field, I have to find a way to help those who are playing," he explained. "Often, a good atmosphere helps—a smile, a little relief from the pressure—but also setting a good example in training. I feel the pressure to measure up to the rest of the team. If that helps, all the better. And that's what I'm doing."

The experienced shot-stopper also didn't shy away from addressing Barcelona's painful UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid. Reflecting on the knockout-stage disappointment, Szczesny offered a brutally honest assessment: "That's football, especially in the knockout stages: a single match can knock you out. And this year, two such matches happened."

Under Hansi Flick's guidance, Barcelona has shown flashes of brilliance, with Robert Lewandowski leading the attack. But Szczesny knows that consistency in Europe's elite competition is the ultimate benchmark. For now, though, his focus remains on contributing however he can—whether that's with a crucial save, a word of advice to a young teammate, or simply a smile to ease the pressure.
