The Syracuse Orange women's basketball roster is undergoing a significant transformation this offseason, with the transfer portal claiming two more key players. Forwards Jasmyn Cooper and Aurora Almón have both entered the portal, bringing the total number of Orange players seeking new homes to seven.

This continued exodus leaves Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack with a major rebuilding project. The departures of Cooper, a former four-star recruit, and Almón, who previously transferred from Miami, further deplete the frontcourt depth from a team that reached the NCAA Tournament just months ago.

Cooper showed flashes of potential in her lone season, averaging 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in limited minutes. Almón provided a physical presence, grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game. Their decisions to transfer are part of a nationwide trend in college basketball, where roster fluidity has become the norm.

With these latest moves, Syracuse is now down to just four returning players from last season's tournament squad: Uche Izoje, Angelica Velez, Olivia Schmitt, and Keira Scott, alongside incoming freshman Madison Howard. This creates both a challenge and an opportunity, leaving numerous scholarships available as the portal officially opens.

The coming weeks will be critical for the Orange as they look to reload with new talent. For fans, it's a time of change, but also anticipation for the new roster that will take the court next season wearing the Orange and Blue.
