The Syracuse Orange women's basketball program is making moves on and off the court, adding a key transfer while also earning early postseason recognition. Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack's squad has bolstered its frontcourt with the addition of Temple forward Jaleesa Molina, a 6'3" standout from the Netherlands who brings a wealth of experience to the team. Over three seasons with the Owls, Molina started 61 games in the last two years and averaged an impressive 9.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season. Her size and versatility should provide a significant boost to Syracuse's interior play.

Meanwhile, the Orange are already generating buzz for the 2027 NCAA Tournament. ESPN bracketologist Charlie Creme has pegged Syracuse as a 10 seed in his early projections, setting up a potential first-round matchup against West Virginia in Iowa City. That would mark a welcome change for a program often forced to travel to familiar foes like UConn. In this scenario, host Iowa would enter as a 2 seed, facing James Madison. Syracuse is one of nine ACC teams in the projection and sits just outside the First Four, a testament to the team's growing depth and potential.

Much of that optimism centers on center Uche Izoje, who is spending her offseason with Nigeria's National Team in exhibition games against WNBA opponents. While most students are hitting the books for finals, Izoje is hitting the court against the best in the world. In a recent 89-63 loss to the LA Sparks, she posted 10 points and 5 rebounds with a plus-minus of -4 in 22 minutes. She followed that up with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists against the Minnesota Lynx in an 88-79 defeat, finishing as a +5. Nigeria wraps up its exhibition slate against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday, giving Izoje one more chance to shine on a big stage before returning to Syracuse.

With a new addition in Molina and a rising star in Izoje, the Orange are building a roster that could make noise not just in the ACC, but on the national scene. Whether you're stocking up on Syracuse gear for next season or just love following the team's journey, this is a squad worth watching.
