The Syracuse Orange didn’t have a selection in this year’s WNBA Draft, but guard Laila Phelia has headed to training camp with the Atlanta Dream.

Phelia faces an uphill climb to break camp with a roster spot as Atlanta added three new guards to their roster which already included fiver returners led by Alisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada.
Opportunities for undrafted players is hard to come by in the WNBA. With expansion teams set to join the WNBA in 2028 (Cleveland), 2029 (Detroit) and 2030 (Philadelphia), those opportunities will increase so players like Phelia hope to make strong impressions and stay in the mix as roster spots grow.
Good luck to Laila as she pushes to keep her professional dreams alive.
