Syracuse football is building something special in the City of Brotherly Love, and the Orange just added another key piece to their 2027 recruiting class. Over the weekend, St. Joseph's Prep cornerback Masiia Acrey announced his commitment to Syracuse, marking the 12th pledge for the program's future.

Acrey, a 5'10" three-star prospect, brings impressive credentials from one of Pennsylvania's top high school programs. He's rated as the 92nd-best cornerback in the 2027 class by 247Sports and the 26th-best player in the state. Rivals also lists him as a three-star and a top-100 corner nationally.

The Philadelphia native had plenty of options, collecting offers from notable programs like Indiana, Boston College, Pitt, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and NC State. But Syracuse's growing pipeline from St. Joseph's Prep proved too strong to resist. Acrey is already teammates with incoming Orange defensive lineman Alex Haskell, and the school is also the alma mater of Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord. Head coach Fran Brown is clearly making Philly a priority, and it's paying off.

With Acrey on board, Syracuse's 2027 class now ranks 20th nationally according to 247Sports and 37th per Rivals. For fans eager to see what this talented corner brings to the field, his game footage from last season shows a playmaker with the instincts and athleticism to make an immediate impact when he arrives on campus. The Orange are building a foundation that starts with connections—and Acrey is the latest proof that those connections are working.
