The latest Swampcast discusses Florida football's 2026 schedule, Florida baseball's postseason hopes, and Florida softball's path to the WCWS.

As the Florida Gators prepare for a new era under head coach Jon Sumrall, the latest Swampcast episode breaks down the challenges and opportunities ahead across three major sports.

Hosts Kevin Brockway, Andrew Abadie, and Noah Ram kicked off the discussion with Florida football's 2026 schedule, which features an average opponent win total of 7.3—only slightly lower than the 7.5 in 2025. Brockway highlighted the Week 3 showdown at Auburn as a tone-setter for Sumrall's debut season. "It's Alex Golesh versus Jon Sumrall—two first-year coaches with a fascinating backstory," Brockway noted. "Auburn was targeting Sumrall before hiring Golesh, and now you've got crossover players like Eric Singleton Jr. coming to Florida, while Golesh brings Byrum Brown and Keshaun Singleton, who were key in USF's upset over Florida at The Swamp last year."

The conversation then shifted to Florida baseball's impressive late-season surge. Abadie explained how the Gators have locked up hosting a regional and are positioning themselves for a Super Regional and a top-eight national seed. "I think the eighth spot comes down to Southern Miss and Florida," Abadie said. "It'll be decided by how each team performs in this final stretch."

Finally, Ram addressed Florida softball's postseason path as the No. 6 national seed. The Gators will host Georgia Tech, Texas State, and Florida A&M in the Gainesville Regional, with a potential Super Regional matchup against 11th-seed Texas Tech and star pitcher NiJaree Canady. Florida is chasing its 14th trip to the Women's College World Series in 21 years under head coach Tim Walton. "The thing working in Florida's favor is pedigree," Ram emphasized. "They haven't lost a regional at home in 14 years—it's only happened once under Walton. And they've never lost a Super Regional to a lower seed."
