Arnold Allen faces Melquizael Costa at UFC Vegas 117

Arnold Allen is gearing up for the biggest fight of his night at UFC Vegas 117, but he's not losing any sleep over sharing the marquee with Ronda Rousey's long-awaited comeback. However, the British featherweight couldn't help but call out what he sees as "stupid stuff" from the former UFC champion's recent comments.

Allen faces surging contender Melquizael Costa in Saturday's headliner at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Rousey steps back into the cage against fellow pioneer Gina Carano in the main event of MVP's first-ever MMA card on Netflix. It's a stacked night for fight fans, but the promotional approach couldn't be more different.

"I'll be honest, I haven't thought about that at all," Allen told MMA Fighting, shrugging off the date clash. "I just keep seeing clips of Ronda Rousey talking about stuff and calling UFC fighters out, being on OnlyFans. I think after this fight I'll probably be on OnlyFans too, so I'm going to try and make some more money."

The "Almighty" is looking to bounce back after a tough stretch. At UFC 324 in January, Allen dropped a decision to Jean Silva, marking his third loss in four outings. Now, he's focused on letting his fists do the talking inside the octagon.

But Rousey's recent comments—specifically dragging current flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko into her feud with UFC brass over business practices—didn't sit well with Allen. Shevchenko, a dominant champion and one of the most accomplished female fighters in history, has been criticized by Rousey for her OnlyFans presence.

"To be honest, it's stupid," Allen said. "Valentina Shevchenko is such a great role model. She's a fantastic athlete, one of the best women's fighters ever. She has OnlyFans to... we all know what she's doing. She ain't doing weird stuff on there. It's just to post videos of her training, normal stuff. People pay to connect with her, it's whatever."

Allen dismissed the notion that Shevchenko's content crosses any lines. "I get the annotation, but trying to make out that Valentina Shevchenko's doing like porn and stuff—I don't know. Maybe. I haven't paid, so maybe you go on there and there is that, but I don't think so. It's just stupid, man. Stupid stuff."

For Allen, the message is clear: focus on the fight, not the noise. As he prepares to step into the cage against Costa, he's determined to let his performance speak louder than any social media drama.
