Manchester City faced off against Southampton at Wembley Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result in the semifinals of the FA Cup. The Mancunian giants made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Finn Azaz gave the Saints the lead in the 79th minute, but Jeremy Doku equalised for Pep Guardiola’s side just three minutes later. Nico Gonzalez ended up scoring the winning goal for Man City in the 87th minute. The match finished with the Mancunian giants earning a hard-fought 2-1 win at Wembley.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the match against Southampton.

He made a couple of solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.

Nunes was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

He cleared the danger when he could and was a good presence on the ball.

Ake put his foot through the ball when required and was a strong presence in the air.

He earned possession back twice and made a handful of impressive runs with the ball.

Gonzalez ran the show inside the opponent’s half and managed to score the winner in the 87th minute.

He managed to shine at times inside the Southampton half, but there was no goal for him.

Cherki caused a few problems for his marker, but failed to register a goal this evening.

He caught the eye at times in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

Foden was a real threat at times on the left wing, but failed to take his chances.

He was not shy of having a strike at goal, but struggled to find the cutting edge up top.

Doku was a constant menace in the final third and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.
