A former second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020 is attempting to make an NFL comeback.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers second-round pick Chase Claypool is making another push to return to the NFL. The veteran wide receiver, originally selected in the 2020 draft, is currently participating in the Green Bay Packers' mini-camp on a tryout basis, as reported by The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

Claypool's career got off to a promising start in Pittsburgh, where he recorded back-to-back seasons with over 800 receiving yards. However, his trajectory took a downturn in 2022 when the Steelers traded him to the Chicago Bears after just eight games. Despite the Bears investing heavily in the young receiver, Claypool managed only 18 catches for 191 yards and one touchdown across 10 games (five starts) with Chicago.

His struggles continued in 2023 with the Miami Dolphins, where he caught just four passes for 26 yards in nine appearances. The following season, Claypool signed with the Buffalo Bills but was placed on season-ending injured reserve before making it through training camp.

Now, at 27 years old, Claypool is hoping to revive his career with the Packers. However, Green Bay already boasts a deep and talented wide receiver room, making a roster spot far from guaranteed. For Claypool, this tryout represents another chance to prove he can still contribute at the highest level—a comeback story that fans of the game will be watching closely.
