One of the ACC's top guards will likely be playing elsewhere if he can secure an eligibility waiver from the NCAA.

On Monday, North Carolina guard Seth Trimble entered the transfer portal with a "do not contact" tag, meaning teams are not permitted to reach out to him. That would indicate that he has a fairly clear idea as to where he's heading if he's granted eligibility.

A four-year player with the Tar Heels, Trimble appeared in 126 games and made 45 starts. He became a full-time starter this past season, averaging a career-best 14 points with 3.8 rebounds and three assists per game.

Trimble is one of several players who have opted to enter the portal with no eligibility remaining. He's likely hoping the NCAA passes legislation granting athletes five seasons to compete. If he's granted that additional season of eligibility, a return to UNC could also be in the cards.
