After hitting one of the most memorable shots in recent St. John's history, a buzzer-beating layup to send the Red Storm to the Sweet 16, Dylan Darling is making a major move. The Spokane native and Central Valley High School graduate is transferring from the Big East to the West, committing to Grand Canyon University for his final season of eligibility.

Darling's lone season in New York was a storybook success. He averaged 6.9 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.5 rebounds, helping St. John's secure both the Big East regular-season and tournament championships. But his legacy was cemented in March Madness, where his game-winner against Kansas turned him into an instant campus legend and even earned him a first-pitch honor at Citi Field.

Now, the 6-foot-2 guard heads to a GCU program known for its electric atmosphere and competitive drive in the Mountain West Conference. This move offers Darling a clear opportunity to step into a primary ball-handler role and be a focal point for the Antelopes, a chance to build on a collegiate journey that has seen him develop from Washington State, to a Big Sky MVP at Idaho State, to a Big East champion.

For a player who has thrived in clutch moments, the transition to GCU's vibrant basketball culture sets the stage for an exciting final chapter in his college career.
