Lamine Yamal reportedly already has a plan in place for the World Cup with Spain as he bids to recover from injury in time for the tournament.
The teenager has been ruled out of the rest of Barcelona’s season, but it is hoped he will be fit in time to play for Luis de la Fuente’s side at the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
According to Cope, the current plan is for Yamal to miss Spain’s opening game against Cape Verde which is scheduled to take place on June 15th.
Spain then want Yamal to play around 20 minutes in their second group encounter against Saudi Arabia, with the hope being that he will be 100% ready for their final match in Group H against Uruguay.
Barcelona have already urged Spain to be careful with Yamal, as the Catalans fear he could suffer a relapse, and want him to be eased back into action carefully.
Spain will head into the tournament as one of the favorites for victory at World Cup 2026. La Roja will be expected to top their group, and will be crossing their fingers that Yamal will be in great shape by the time the knockout stage starts.
