CORAL GABLES — The Hurricanes’ bullpen gave up 11 runs in a 16-9, extra-inning loss in Game 2 of its series against Louisville on Friday night. The Miami Hurricanes closed out their home schedule in dramatic fashion on Saturday, bouncing back from a tough loss to secure a 10-8 victory over Louisville at Mark Light Field. After the bullpen surrendered 11 runs in Friday night's 16-9 extra-inning heartbreaker, the relief corps turned in a masterful performance when it mattered most.

Miami relievers combined to pitch 6 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs in the rubber match. Sebastian Santos-Olson was lights out, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings after taking over for starter AJ Ciscar. TJ Coats ran into some trouble, giving up a two-run homer to Louisville first baseman Tague Davis — his 33rd of the season — but otherwise held the Cardinals in check. Jack Durso struck out two in a clean eighth inning, and Lyndon Glidewell closed the door with a hitless ninth to seal the win for the Hurricanes (35-15, 15-12 ACC).

The strong bullpen showing was crucial after Ciscar struggled from the opening pitch. Louisville's Zion Rose led off the game with a double, and a throwing error on a bunt allowed the Cardinals to jump ahead early. But the Hurricanes' offense answered quickly, with Alex Sosa launching a two-run homer to right field to give Miami the lead.

The game became a back-and-forth battle in the middle innings. Louisville regained the lead in the second on an RBI single from Rose and an RBI groundout, but Miami clawed back with an RBI single from Michael Torres. The Cardinals extended their lead to 5-3 in the third when a wild pitch and an RBI walk from Rose chased Ciscar from the game.

That's when the bullpen took over and the offense went to work. The Hurricanes' bats came alive, with Sosa delivering his second homer of the game to ignite the comeback. Miami's lineup showed the kind of resilience that has defined their season, chipping away at the lead before pulling ahead for good.

The victory provided a fitting send-off for the home crowd and kept the Hurricanes in strong position as they head into the final stretch of the regular season. After Friday's bullpen struggles, Saturday's performance was a reminder of just how dangerous this Miami team can be when all phases of the game click together.
