Nationally ranked Melissa continued its bid for a third straight state title by routing Midlothian in a one-game regional semifinal.

The nationally ranked Melissa softball team is making another powerful statement in their quest for a third consecutive state title. On Thursday night at Birdville High's Hawk Field, the Cardinals delivered a commanding 12-0 victory over Midlothian in a one-game Class 5A Division I Region II semifinal, showcasing the kind of dominant performance that has become their trademark.

Junior pitcher Eloisa Maes, already orally committed to Arizona, threw a five-inning no-hitter that kept Midlothian's batters off balance all night. While her 28-2 record speaks volumes, Maes is quick to credit her teammates. "It's cool to see the homers," she said. "I know the batters have my back and the fielders do, too." Her philosophy is simple: "My job is to spin the ball and miss the barrel of the bat. Strikeouts are not important to me. I'd rather get an out on one pitch." She struck out four and allowed only two baserunners—a walk in the first and an infield error in the third.

Melissa's offense was equally impressive, launching four home runs to support their ace. Izzy Gonzales and Oklahoma commit Finlee Williams each hit solo shots, while Rihanna Wheeler and future Florida Gator Kennedy Bradley cleared the 10-foot wall with two-run homers. Williams and Bradley now share the team lead with 20 home runs apiece, each driving in three runs in this game alone. Seven of Melissa's nine hits went for extra bases, including an RBI triple from Arkansas pledge Hutton Adrian and two-run doubles from Ana Gonzales and Williams.

The Cardinals (31-2), ranked No. 4 nationally by MaxPreps, have now won 16 consecutive playoff rounds over the last three seasons and reached the fourth round for the fifth straight year. For Midlothian (24-12-2), it was a familiar ending—elimination by Melissa for the second consecutive postseason after making it to the third round.

In another key matchup, Denton Guyer edged Keller 7-5, with Annaleeia Martinez breaking a 4-4 tie on a two-out, two-run triple in the top of the inning. Guyer once again proved to be Keller's postseason nemesis, sending them home for the second straight year.

For fans of elite softball, Melissa's blend of pitching precision and power hitting is a blueprint for championship success—and a reminder that great gear can help players at every level perform at their best.
