TULSA, OK (WNCT) — Julia Apostolakos got eight strikeouts over five innings, Trinity Nichols had a two-run homer, and ECU held off a late Tulsa run to seal the win and the series over the Golden Hurricane.

The Pirates got up 5-0 after the Nichols homerun, but Tulsa got a run from Aliay Scarborough in the fifth, and then Faith Russell hit a three-run shot in the sixth to come within one.

Taylor Apple got the save after taking over for Sydney Rainford in the seventh and getting Madison Garcia to ground out into a double-play to end the game.

The Pirates will be on the road on April 28 with a rematch against NC State.
