FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The courtroom was tense as former Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill sat silently, facing a lawsuit that could change how fans view the line between playful competition and real injury. At the center of the drama: a "football camp" scrimmage at Hill's Southwest Ranches home that ended with social media influencer Sophie Hall in the hospital with a fractured leg.
Hall, 36, is suing Hill for $75,000, claiming the NFL wide receiver's behavior turned aggressive after she embarrassed him during a light-hearted drill. According to her attorney, Jonathan Gdansky, what started as a fun, educational session for her son quickly shifted. "The plays that were supposed to be about what her son would experience as a football player were suddenly something else," Gdansky told the jury.
The incident dates back to June 28, 2023, when Hall—who boasts millions of followers on Instagram and OnlyFans—joined Hill for what she thought was a friendly scrimmage. But after she showed she could push Hill hard enough to make him move, things took a turn. Hall claims Hill's demeanor changed, and he became more aggressive, leading to her injury.
In the days that followed, Hall texted Hill an X-ray of her fractured leg. His response? "Not a chance," he wrote when she suggested her strength caused the injury. "I just moved too fast around you."
But Hill's lawyer, Robert Horwitz, paints a very different picture. He argues that Hall's injury wasn't Hill's fault—and that she didn't blame him until well after the fact. Horwitz points out that Hill actually carried Hall back to his house after the scrimmage, where she stayed for two days. The two were even intimate twice during that time, according to the defense.
So what really caused the fracture? Horwitz suggests a simpler explanation: Hall may have tripped over Hill's dog, which witnesses say was in the way during the play. "She was a football mom for a year before this," Horwitz said. "She went to football practices. She knew and assumed the risk."
Late Thursday, Hall took the stand to tell her side of the story, including why she waited to seek medical attention. As the trial unfolds, one thing is clear: this case is about more than just a broken leg—it's about accountability, perception, and the unexpected dangers of mixing sports with social media fame.
