Manchester United fans have reason to smile ahead of the weekend's showdown against Chelsea, as head coach Marc Skinner delivered a double fitness update that could give the Red Devils a much-needed boost. Key duo Dominique Janssen and Elisabeth Terland are set to return to training, injecting optimism into a squad that has faced a turbulent second half of the season.

The season started with so much promise for United, who kept pace with powerhouses Chelsea and Manchester City in the Women's Super League while making a historic debut in the Champions League. But the wheels came off after a heartbreaking 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Women's League Cup final in March. That defeat seemed to unravel their momentum, leading to a Champions League quarterfinal exit at the hands of Bayern Munich and a slide down the WSL table.

Now sitting in fourth place, United are out of the race for a second consecutive Champions League berth. Saturday's match at Chelsea will be about pride and finishing the season on a high note—and the potential return of Janssen and Terland could be the spark they need. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Skinner shared the good news: "We've got two training sessions [before the game]. As of today, both will be training which is great. Hopefully, if they come through this, we'll have Dom and Elisabeth back in the squad."

However, it's not all good news. Winger Leah Galton is expected to miss the match as she prepares to leave the club at the end of the season when her contract expires. "Likely Leah Galton will miss out on this game," Skinner confirmed, adding that aside from that, "everyone else should hopefully be fit."

With the season winding down, this weekend's clash at Stamford Bridge offers United a chance to finish strong and build momentum for the future. For fans, seeing key players back in action—especially in the famous red kit—is always a reason to get excited.
