The Philadelphia 76ers have done what many thought impossible—storming into TD Garden and silencing the Boston Celtics with a commanding 109-100 victory in Game 7. This wasn't just any win; it was a comeback for the ages, as the Sixers rallied from a daunting 3-1 series deficit to eliminate their bitter rivals on their home floor.

For Joel Embiid, this triumph carried extra weight. The superstar center had been haunted by past playoff failures against Boston, including Jayson Tatum's unforgettable 51-point explosion in Game 7 of 2023 and the humiliating sweep in the 2020 bubble. But none of that mattered now. Embiid, returning from an emergency appendectomy, led his team to a historic rally—Philadelphia's first 3-1 series comeback and its first playoff series win over the Celtics since 1982.

"I have until midnight to celebrate," Embiid said with a grin, speaking from the podium just past the witching hour. "It's past midnight. It's over with. It felt good, but it's only the first one—one series down, got more to go. Now the focus is on New York. They're a really good team, so we've just got to go out there, especially in the Garden. That's going to be fun. Exciting."

But Embiid wasn't done talking. He had a pointed message for Celtics guard Payton Pritchard, who had earlier told Boston media that the team wasn't game-planning for the 2023 MVP's potential return. While winning Game 7 and vanquishing the Celtics was a massive achievement for this group, Embiid made sure to call out those comments.

"It feels good," Embiid added. "I was 0-3 in Game 7s, so I just wanted to bring the energy tonight. But it also helps when I saw No. 11 on their team before I came back—he said they didn't care if I was playing or not, and they hadn't even adjusted or had some sort of game plan for me. So I think it also helps when the other team doesn't worry about you and doesn't have a solid game plan prepared. So, I thank No. 11."

With the Celtics now in the rearview mirror, Embiid and the Sixers turn their attention to the New York Knicks. The road ahead is tough, but for one night, Philadelphia can savor a victory that will be remembered for years to come.
