Fulham boss Marco Silva has been speaking to the media before Sunday's Premier League game against Wolves at Molineux (15:00 BST). Fulham boss Marco Silva addressed the media ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Wolves at Molineux (15:00 BST), bringing a mix of positive news and candid reflections on the team's season.

In a significant boost for the Cottagers, Alex Iwobi is set to return after missing the last three matches with a hamstring injury. Silva confirmed the Nigerian international's availability, stating: "Alex is in contention for the game. Last week, he did some training sessions with us and this week, throughout, he's been working with ourselves. It's been a good week for him."

However, Fulham will be without Joachim Andersen, who is suspended following his red card in last weekend's defeat to Bournemouth. Ryan Sessegnon also remains sidelined. Silva noted that aside from those absentees, "all the other players are going to be available for the game."

Silva didn't hold back when discussing Iwobi's importance to the squad, describing him as a "big player" who brings versatility and quality to the team. "He's a player who's very versatile, who can play in many different positions. He's also a player that can add extra quality in the decision making. In all aspects of the game he's a key player for us and he's shown it again this season. It's a boost. Definitely, it's a boost."

Reflecting on the Bournemouth defeat, which dealt a heavy blow to Fulham's European aspirations, Silva was realistic but determined. "Last week, everything was under our control. It's not gone, but the percentage chance is much smaller. We lost the chance to depend on ourselves. Now we have to focus on winning our games."

Despite the setback, Silva emphasized the progress the club has made, noting that even discussing European qualification marks a step forward. "I am always trying to push this club forward. These types of moments are better than what the club had in the past. To talk about frustration of maybe not getting Europe shows the club have moved forward."

On a personal note, Silva firmly denied recent media reports linking him with a move to Benfica after his contract expires at the end of the season. "Let's be clear about it because I think it is important to clarify that I didn't have any offer from Benfica. I didn't have any conversation with Benfica and it is important right now to tell the truth about that situation."

As Fulham gear up for the trip to Molineux, all eyes will be on Iwobi's return and whether the team can reignite their push for a strong finish to the campaign.
