Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is scheduled for sentencing this afternoon, bringing a difficult chapter closer to an end. Legal experts and Moore's own attorney believe additional jail time is unlikely following a plea agreement reached in March.

Moore pleaded no contest to reduced misdemeanor charges of malicious use of a telecommunications device and trespassing. This marks a significant shift from the original, more serious felony home invasion and stalking charges filed after a December 2025 incident.

The situation stems from an encounter at the apartment of Paige Shiver, a former U-M assistant with whom Moore had a two-year affair. Following his dismissal by the university for the inappropriate relationship, Moore went to Shiver's home. Police reports state he entered without permission, leading to a confrontation that resulted in his arrest, though Moore denied threatening or harming Shiver.

With the legal battle now resolved through a plea deal, the sports world watches as District Judge J. Cedric Simpson determines the final sentence.
